Cake Therapy

Do you ever have one of those days where you just wake up feeling BLAH! That was me yesterday. It wasn't a lazy in bed all day feeling, just a "I really don't feel quite right" feeling. I cleaned, baked, took care of Sophia, yada yada yada. I was not getting any better. I read my scriptures then took a nice long wonderful bubble bath. That helped a lot. It probably washed away some of my blues. I was feeling better, but still something was just a little off. Later that night, as the streets filled with sparkling ice glitter, I drove to my friends house for a cake decorating class. After a near death experience I finally made it there. It was wonderfully therapeutic. The cake was no where near perfect, or even party worthy, but it was the medicine I needed. Now I have the cake deco bug! I keep of thinking of excuses just to make cakes. Super Bowl, Valentines, Happy Friday! There's only one problem. Who's going to eat them?

On a Roll

On Sunday Sophia rolled over from her back to her belly. This is her rolling over for the very first time! She has been rolling the other direction for a while. Now that she can do both she just keeps going and going and going. I laid her on her blanket and went in the kitchen. Next thing I know I heard a clang and she was across the living room hanging on to a table. She is five months old today---man how time flies! I guess I'm in for it now!

Baby Shower Ideas

Hello! I am throwing my sister in law a baby shower in February! I have some ideas about decorations, food, gifts, etc. I was wondering if there is anything you've seen or done at a baby shower that you thought was just so incredibly adorable. This is her first and she is having a girl. Any suggestions will be mucho appreciated!

Sophia's First Basketball Game

Sophia and Dad had a great time at Casey's basketball game! She loved watching the players move up and down the court. She must have gotten bored because she fell asleep towards the end of the game. Whistles, hoops, hollers, buzzers, and squeaky shoes could not keep this baby awake! She soooo is my daughter!

Holiday Fun

With how crazy the holidays are I haven't posted for a while. We had a wonderful and tiring first Christmas with Sophia. We stayed the night at Jerad's grandparents and watched Christmas vacation while eating the yummiest mushroom treats. Sophia went to bed pretty easy but woke up a couple of times with a "where the heck am I cry". With a plug of the passi she was back asleep, but between the symphony of snores and baby sounds I didn't get much sleep. At 5 am we were awaken to the sounds of a happy baby ready to see what santa brought her. We woke up the rest of the family and watched our 4 year old cousin open his presents. Sophia got a GIANT bear and an old fashioned noise maker (one of those rolly ones). From there it was off to Jerad's parents and then to my grandparents. Sophia was so good and everyone loved their pictures from her (thanks tasha :)). We've enjoyed taking time off from work and visiting family. Yes, even I got a break from work. Jerad took down all of Christmas and cleaned the entire house!!!! How lucky am I!!!
