Santa Gets A Present

Well Jerad and I thought it would be fun to take Sophia to the mall for her first trip to meet Santa. I was expecting lines out the door, screaming kids, and paying one million dollars for a tiny photo with Santa. To my surprise the line moved pretty quickly, only one tot screamed, and we only payed 1/2 a mil for 8 tiny photos. Finally we made it to the front of the line where we watched a pre-school aged boy and newborn baby take the cutest picture ever with Santa. Now it was our turn. We placed Sophia on Santa's lap. Hey, no screaming or crying. This was going "pretty good"! Then I could see it coming. Santa was about to get an early Christmas present. Oh no! Santa don't bounce her up and down so fast! Smile, 1 2 3, blaaaah! Santa got a spit up surprise. Being the sweet old man he is, he looked at Jerad and said "TAKE HER NOW"! We ended up getting a cute pic. She looked a little grumpy. How would you look if you were about to spew. Hopefully next year she will smile for the camera and give Santa a candy cane instead.

Sophia's First Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we were in the good ole town of Joshua pronounced josh-u-way to the natives. I was a little stressed (understatement) for no good reason at all. We ate the yummiest thanksgiving food ever (gotta love those sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top) at my Mimi's, snapped a few pics, and then were off to Jerad's Grandparents. We planned on leaving my Mimi's early so we could spend time with Jerad's fam from out of town, but of course with a 3 month old it didn't happen! Nevertheless, we made it and had a good visit. I stressed for no reason! I guess now I will be ready for Christmas and decide to go with the flow.

Getting Crafty

Adjusting to motherhood has been an adventure! I always thought of myself as a natural at being a mother, even though there have been many prayers and tears in my journey thus far. Staying at home was a different adjustment and I didn't know if I was cut out for the housewife thing. There are so many things I am not a natural at and neither was my mom. I have had to actually learn new things and practice, which that is something I do love...learning new things. I love to bake, but am learning new things to cook. I love making things like tutus, bows, and other crafts for the house and Sophia! What I am still working on is how to scout out deals for groceries, etc. and manage a budget ( now that we are a one income household). I love to organize, but really don't know where to start! Sophia takes 1 hour naps max, so I don't have a lot of free time. I know with practice and time my capacity will increase, so for now I will admire those of yall who have been at this for a while!

Family Outing

On Saturday we went to my favorite restaraunt Joe T's and then to the botanical gardens! Sophia loved being outside, I think she'll be a naturalist. There are also some other random pics of Sophia in her bumbo watching baby einstien and her chewing on her wedge (i guess it doesn't work for a strong wiggly worms!).

Halloween Fun

What a crazy week! Sophia and I have been on the run! We went to visit my friend and her brand new baby, went to the physical therapist, and went to visit everyone where I used to teach. She was so adorable in the Halloween tutu Nicole made for her. We made caramel apples, yummy sugar cookies with delectable frosting, and yummy soup and paninis. My dad (now called Grandad) and his sweetheart Kelly came over for Halloween goodies and pictures. Sophia was a spider! By the time we got her in her costume she was ready for bed! Today we are off to Joe T's, my fav restaurant ever, and then to the botanical gardens. I am determined to post more often. Oh, on Friday of last week Sophia rolled over from her belly to her back! Every time I lay her on her belly for tummy time she ends up on her back. The little turkey!!!!!!!!!!!

Fall Fun, Sophia on the run

We went to the pumpkin patch on Tuesday with Lacey and Abby. The girls were too cute. I tried to get some cute pics but Sophia was being a little grumpy! Maybe it was the bees following me everywhere. They weren't swarming anyone else, wt heck!!!!!!! I guess I smell too sweet ha ha! Sophia is now 11 lbs and 10 weeks old.

7 weeks and lookin good!

Sophia was a whoppin 9lbs 12 oz last week, I just love her little rolls! She has reflux and so we are on medication and REFLUX PROTOCOL (sounds official like the FBI or something). She prefers to sleep in her carrier right now because it is uncomfortable for her to lay on her back. I'm sure as her reflux settles she will be able to sleep on her back or side again. We are having so much fun dressing up and playing. She sleeps great at night and always has, lets hope it sticks. It's the day time naps that usually get interrupted by poo or upset tummy. She has started "talking" a little, it is soooo adorable. I know she will be doing more and more each day!

Four Weeks-Life at Warp Speed

Sophia is 4 weeks old now, wow how fast it came! She is now a whoppin 9lbs 1oz! I can't believe how fast babies grow. She is trying to coo a little and makes the cutest noises. I can't wait until she begins babbling! We are having fun going for walks, taking baths, and playing! I am soo excited for Halloween. Sophia is going to be the cutest spider around.

Growing Girl

Sophia is growing like a weed. On Friday she was up to 7lbs 3 oz and almost 21 inches long. Sophia and I are starting to get into a groove, how long it will last I do not know!!!! We have had some rough days where her schedule was out of whack, but with continued effort and consistency I know she will continue to be a happy and healthy baby. I've finally been able to do the regular everyday things again like shower, make-up, make dinner, laundry, read! It has been so much fun watching her grow and change every day. She is having fun with bath time, and I swear she grins at me! (don't dash my hopes and tell me its gas!!!!!!!!!!!!) Are adventures have included a poo fest at the Dr, where she proceeded to squirt out poo all over mom and dad as we were changing her diaper. It was not until later that I discovered it (yellow poo) all over my jeans! Oh the joys of motherhood, I couldn't help but laugh until I peed my pants!

Note about one of the pics:
Dad and Sophia have the same sleeping habits, who would've known!!!!

Sophia Grace

She's finally here! Sophia was born on Friday morning August 15th at 8:13 am!!!! My waterbroke Thursday night at 6:30 and then 14 hrs later she was here! She was 6lbs 13 oz and 19 in long. After a low blood sugar scare for the first 24 hrs she was doing great! We had a little trouble with feeding but now the little snorter is moving and grooving! Friday will be her 2 week check up. Time does fly and each day is a new adventure. Can't wait to post more about what she is doing. She is such a strong baby already. She can roll over onto her side and lift her head up for brief periods of time. Can't wait to see what is in store as she grows!

33 weeks: Someone get this baby out of me!!!

Well, all along I have been saying how pregnancy has been so great and so much fun. I have finally hit the point where fun is gone and in its place is heartburn, huge ginormous swollen body parts, rapid water weight gain, and difficulty sitting, standing, rolling, eating,......! I have about six and 1/2 weeks left minus or plus a few: since babies usually don't come when they are supposed to. Even though I may not look it (some may beg to differ) I feel like I weigh a bazillion pounds.

On another note I am very excited about a shower some of my friends are throwing me tonight, and the shower my MiMi and other friends are throwing this weekend. The babies room is close to being done, and after the showers I can't wait to put the finishing touches on everything! I can't wait to pack for the hospital and know I have everything I need! I know this is just a fantasy, but a girl can wish.

3D sono

Hello everyone!

It has been a while since I blogged, but I promise to do better! Summer has been fun so far. I have been spending the first few weeks organizing all my school stuff and putting it in the attic. I have also been cleaning out closets like crazy and organizing my house! Other than that I have had a blast decorating the nursery, reading, and hanging out at the pool!

Summer News:

Nicole is having a baby girl too and my cousin Rory just gave birth to her little girl, Sarah, on Tuesday June 17th! She is beautiful. When I was holding her I could feel the burning desire to meet my baby girl. I can't wait...I hope the next 10 weeks doesn't seem like an eternity. Another friend of mine is having a girl too....it is girl mania! Too much estrogen up in here!

3D Sono:

Jerad and I saw our little girl today via 3D sono! She was being such a turkey, we only got one good shot of her face. She was using the placenta as her pillow and the ambilical cord as her blanket. When I tried to get her to move she gave us the cold sholder and turned the back of her head towards us. What a little toot! We did get to see that she already has a little hair! I think she is cute as button. Who does she look like......hmmm.......I don't know! We are just glad to see she is still a girl and has all of her parts!

It's a girl!

We went to the doctor on Tuesday to see our little bean at 19 weeks along! I fully expected to find a healthy beautiful baby boy, but to our surprise we found out we are having a beautiful BABY GIRL!!!!!! It was amazing! When we first saw her she was sucking her thumb. She started to move around like crazy and then eventually found her thumb again! I want to share some of the pictures because they are too cute! I feel like one of THOSE PARENTS already, wanting to show everyone pictures of my baby even if she is still in utero!

15 weeks and counting!

Well, my prego friend Nicole told me about this blog thing, and I thought I would entertain myself and bore you! I am 15 weeks pregnant and soooooooo excited about little bean. The first time we saw bean he looked like a bean/gummy bear. When I was 10 weeks preggers we heard bean's heart beat at a whopping 170 bmp. Bean is above average from utero!
At 15 weeks I am finally passed the nausea stage, but no weird cravings, or any cravings for that matter have hit me yet. I can't wait to want to eat something crazy like eggs drowned in chocolate syrup! My husband has to be the greatest. Yesterday for our anniversary he brought home a pizza, coke, and a boppy!!!!!! A boppy is the greatest invention ever, get your mind out of the gutter, it is a body pillow! With my growing bump it has been getting more and more uncomfortable to sleep. He is my hero!
On another note I am happy to say I never officially got sick b/c of pregnancy, only some bad chili last weekend! I am now feeling better and have enjoyed a lazy day at home thanks to the lovely snow! We got at least 6 inches in Haslet! I wonder if anyone will ever read this. I'll try to make it a little more interesting next time!
